Helene Lindmark:

Guardian of Ancestral Wisdom, Healer and Environmental Advocate

Helene Lindmark, a luminary rooted in the ancient traditions of the Sámi people, emerged into the world on September 9th, 1969, in the village of Liikavaara, Sweden, nestled 83 kilometers above the Arctic Circle. Her upbringing was steeped in the wisdom of her ancestors, where the language of the soul and heart transcended mere words, resonating through the fabric of existence.

From the heart of Liikavaara, Helene embarked on a journey intertwined with visions, sensations, and messages from a realm beyond, nurturing a profound connection with nature from an early age. Raised in a tapestry woven with Swedish, Sámi, Finnish, and spiritual threads, she found solace and guidance in the embrace of elders and the nurturing arms of nature itself.

At the tender age of two and a half, the veil between worlds parted for Helene, revealing glimpses of a reality both beautiful and daunting. This pivotal moment marked the beginning of a lifelong quest for understanding and connection, fueled by the profound question: "What is this?"

The passing of her grandfather at age three left an indelible imprint on Helene, a legacy of simplicity and wisdom that would shape her path in years to come. As she matured, the realization dawned upon her: she bore a gift, a heritage passed down through generations—a gift she initially sought outside herself through various pursuits, only to rediscover it within the depths of her being.

In the midst of her journey, Helene found herself drawn back to her roots, to the ancestral home she once left behind. It was there, amidst the familiar landscapes of her childhood, that clarity emerged: she was not defined by certificates or accolades but by the profound connection to her heritage.

Midway through her life, Helene resolved to honor her ancestry and legacy, becoming a custodian of ancient wisdom and a beacon of hope for future generations. Through the lens of a trauma specialist, her work as a bridge between ancestral knowledge and modern society manifests through mentoring, teaching, ceremonies, and rituals, enriching lives with the transformative power of tradition.

Helene's professional journey reflects her commitment to holistic healing and social welfare. From her tenure in healthcare services to her role as an educator in psychiatry, trauma, and neuropsychiatry, she has tirelessly advocated for the well-being of others. As a global spokesperson and advisor, she lends her voice to conservation efforts and climate initiatives, bridging divides and fostering understanding across diverse landscapes. Helene has participated at Stockholm +50, COP26, COP27 and COP28 as well as other global forums and gatherings including Le Ciel Foundation, Seeds, Mother Earth Delegation and the Atman Way Organization.

Educated in the intricacies of social work, psychiatry, and indigenous leadership, Helene's expertise spans both the physical and spiritual realms. Her tireless dedication to environmental stewardship and indigenous wisdom serves as a guiding light in an ever-changing world. She plays a leadership role in the Kiva Family and Roots of Earth, Wisdom Keepers Delegation, Earthrise Collective, PWCDF, Lionbergs, One Degree Network, One Thousand Suns Network, Sami Nission Forum and the FIMI.
